| Client: | The Highland Council |
| Principal Contractor: | Cleantech Civils |
| Location: | Chanonry Point, Scotland |
At a tourist destination as busy and beautiful as this, regular access route maintenance is part of the process. When The Highland Council posted the tender, Cleantech Civils were confident that we could be successful by identifying efficient processes in the delivery of the Scottish project. We were hired in the capacity of Principal Contractor at this scenic location in Scotland, and we swiftly got to work devising a plan to ensure all locals and tourists visiting Chanonry Point could enjoy their time here without interruption. We wanted people to immerse in the area’s iconic coastal scenery and daily dolphin action across Moray Firth. Here, up to 200 dolphins can be seen in close proximity – and we needed to make sure nothing compromised access to a view this spectacular.

How Cleantech Civils Added Value
Arguably the most significant challenge that came into play during this project was the fact that the site’s coastal location offered no weather protection. However, as always, no problem is too intricate for Cleantech Civils to solve. Through hard work, due diligence, and commitment, we managed to complete the project on time and within budget.
Another challenge we needed to navigate was working around the uninterrupted influx of visitors and tourists. We needed to maintain all access routes, or safely reroute where needed, without comprising visitor wellbeing. To solve this dilemma and minimize tourist frustration, we implemented hoarding while erecting the signage necessary to inform site visitors of why we were there, what we were doing, how long it would take.
Space on-site was also limited, which is why we took great care to coordinate all deliveries ahead of time. We set up a holding point at a nearby location – on the Golf Links road – where our team could liaise and complete all deliveries quickly and with minimal public disruption.
Not only did we manage to complete the project on-time and within budget, but we also walked away with a strong new working relationship with the client and all of their stakeholders. By collaborating with our supply chain, we could ensure flawless alignment with the Landscape Architect’s vision in terms of architectural timber seating, information boards, and on-site features in this scenic spot in Scotland.
